Modern methods of teaching Hebrew, ranging from the use of an electronic Language Laboratory to the Ulpan method were surveyed in a recent all-day seminary workshop sponsored by the Department of Education and Culture of the American Section of the Jewish Agency for Israel. Some 50 educators teaching Hebrew in high schools, colleges and adult education centers attended the workshops.

The Department of Education and Culture has inaugurated the first electronic Language Laboratory in the United States devoted exclusively to Hebrew language study, Dr. Samuel Blumenfield, director of the Department, reported. The language laboratory of the Department of Education and Culture which draws for its resources on both the American and the Israeli methods is designed to acquaint Hebrew educators in the United States with all recent advances in the field.
