The deaths of Shalom Gordon, Soviet writer and literary critic, and Sophia Leschtschinskaya, well-known Jewish actress, have been announced in Moscow, it was reported here today. Gordon, who was in his 60’s, wrote extensively about Yiddish literature. The actress died in Saratov during a visit to that town with a Moscow troupe.
