LONDON (Oct. 8)
The Yiddish State Theater of Poland is planning a campaign for greater attendance by Polish Jews to counteract a steady decline in such attendance, it was reported in the Warsaw Jewish newspaper Folkstimme reaching here today.
The decline imposes special difficulties because the Theater depends in part on income from tickets. The decline also created problems in terms of government support. The falling off in attendance was reported to be due to the fact that fewer persons understand Yiddish as the years go by.
