J. B. Jacobs, Atlanta Jewish Leader, Honored; Receives Massell Award

J. B. Jacobs, prominent civic and communal leader of Atlanta, was presented the Benjamin J. Massell Memorial Award at the Progressive Club in the presence of a capacity audience. Mr. Jacobs, who was selected to receive the award, was paid high tribute by community leaders. Speaking in behalf of the Atlanta Jewish Community Council, Max Cuba pointed out the similarity between the late Mr. Massell, and Mr. Jacobs in combining their efforts during their lifetime to help other people and other causes.

Max Rittenbaum, president of Ahavath Achim Congregation, toastmaster dinner, paid high tribute to Mr. Jacobs for his continued efforts on behalf of the strengthening of the economic development of the State of Israel. The guest speaker, General Haim Laskov, of Israel, spoke on Israel’s development program and the urgently needed investment dollars to help Israel reach its goal of self-sufficiency during this decade.
