The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States adopted a resolution at the organization’s national convention here today calling for a letter-writing campaign to win Congressional approval of a proposed amendment to the Constitution restoring prayers and Bible reading to public schools. Such practices were ruled illegal last year by the Supreme Court.

The delegates also approved a resolution calling for the expanded use of religious expressions in oaths, pledges, documents and Government activities.
