Israel Proposes Bill to Cut Taxes, Increase Basic Deductions

Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir presented today to Parliament a tax cut bill which will exempt from such levies 60,000 persons now paying income taxes. Other classes of taxpayers also will benefit. The bill substantially increases basic deductions, and lowers the rate of progressive taxation.
