The city of Glendale, adjoining this city, filed charges in Municipal Court against Ralph Forbes, self-styled American Nazi leader, accusing him of violating a city building ordinance forbidding the use of a private residence as a public meeting hall. Forbes, who leased a house in Glendale, has announced he would use it as a “western division” headquarters of the American Nazi Party. If convicted, Forbes may be subject to a fine of $500 and up to six months in jail, or both.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted to look for stronger state laws to prevent the Nazi Party from establishing headquarters in Glendale or else where in California.
