Dr. Ewal Bucher, the West German Justice Minister who has been the most obdurate foe of extens on of the statute of limitations for the prosecution of Nazi war criminals, was reported here today to have been a one-time leader of the Hitler Youth. It was also revealed here that he had been suspended from the German bar for six years after the war.

The disclosures were made at a mass meeting convened by a number of Belgian Jewish, Zionist, Resistance and other movements insisting on the extension of the statute of limitations in West Germany. A resolution demanding the continuation of the statute was voted unanimously for transmittal to both the Belgian and West German Governments.
