D. S. Montefiore, president of the World Sephardi Federation, arrived here today for two days of meetings with American Sephardi leaders to discuss means of strengthening the activities of the World Federation and the American Branch. Mr. Montefiore was accompanied by Gad Ben-Moir, administrative director of the Federation.
Mr. Ben-Meir noted that, in addition to more than 1,000,000 Sephardi Jews in Israel, there are 100,000 in the United States, about 300,000 in France, 250,000 in Latin America, 100,000 in North Africa and 50,000 in the United Kingdom. The two Sephardi leaders will return to London later this month for the World Council Meeting of the Federation.
