Foreign Minister Abba Eban has urged in a cable to United Nations Secretary General U Thant, that Mr. Thant not refuse election to another term. Mr. Thant, whose term is to expire soon, is expected to announce his plans tomorrow in a letter to members of the United Nations.
Mr. Eban’s message is similar to others sent to Mr. Thant from many statesmen throughout the world. Mr. Eban and Mr. Thant have known each other from the period when each headed his country’s mission to the U.N.
