Dr. Pedro Bloch, a Jew who is considered one of Brazil’s outstanding playwrights, was elected by the State Legislature of Guanabara today as an honorary citizen of the state. Dr. Bloch, an eye specialist, is the author of a number of plays that have achieved success not only in Brazil but also in various countries abroad. He is the chairman of the cultural division of “Hebraica,” one of the outstanding Jewish clubs in Brazil.
