Scientists from 20 countries, including 10 from the Soviet Union and 44 from the United States, are expected to attend the International Congress of Nuclear Physics to be held next month at Rehovoth, it was announced here today.
More than 200 scientists are expected. The congress will be the largest and most important scientific meeting ever held in Israel. It will be conducted under the auspices of the Weizmann Institute of Science and CERN — the European Center for Nuclear Research, which maintains its headquarters in Geneva.
The American delegation, largest ever sent here for this purpose from the U.S.A., will represent leading American research centers and universities. The Soviet delegation is to be headed by Professor Kaldish, president of the USSR Academy of Science. Countries to be represented at the congress will include also France and Britain.
