Adolph Rosenberg, editor and publisher of the Southern Israelite and president of the American Jewish Press Association, said here today that the association will go ahead with plans for its annual convention to open Friday in Israel in spite of United States Government warnings to Americans to avoid travel in the Middle East because of the current crisis.
Mr. Rosenberg told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that some 50 editors and publishers would be on hand for the opening of the convention. Fifteen of the members of the association, he said, have already arrived in Israel.
“The Association’s convention in Israel at this time in history is of the greatest importance in the development of the ongoing history of that nation,” he said. “It serves also as a demonstration of the solidarity of American Jewry with the State of Israel.”
