Aharon Becker, general secretary of Histadrut, the Israel federation of labor, was invited today by George Meany, president of the AFL-CIO in the United States, to attend the next AFL-CIO convention, it was announced here. Mr. Becker has accepted the invitation. While in the United States, he will also help launch the Histadrut campaign in America.
Histadrut also announced that missions representing the organized trade unionists in Israel will be sent soon on good will tours to Scandinavia, Africa and Latin America. Histadrut will also be represented at a number of British trade union conventions this fall, including the International Printing Workers Congress to be held in London.
