TEL AVIV (Mar. 14)
Tanhum Tanpiloff, the founding father of Degania, Israel’s first kibbutz, was buried here today, thus ending a chapter of Israel’s history that began 60 years ago. Tanpiloff, who three generations of Israelis knew by his first name only, died yesterday at the age of 80. He was born in Russia and arrived in Palestine, then a Turkish province, in 1908.
