The American-born head of the Jewish Agency’s information department has urged all American Jews to “follow my footsteps” and settle in Israel because, he alleged, most Jews feel uncomfortable in America. Abraham Schenker arrived here with his family yesterday as a new immigrant. He said he found the situation in Latin America “even worse” than in the United States.

Mr. Schenker visited Latin America recently on behalf of the Jewish Agency executive. He said that Jews there “have become used to their position” and claimed that “they know nevertheless that their future is fraught with dangers and they are looking for ways to come to Israel.”
