Report Jordan Concerned over Impending Increase in Guerrillas

Jordan is deeply concerned over the impending increase in the number of armed guerrillas on its territory and is seeking the cooperation of Egypt to alleviate the situation, the London Times reported from Beirut today.

The visit of Jordanian Prime Minister Bahjat al-Talhouni to President Gamal Abdel Nasser in Cairo was described officially as an exchange of views, but there is no doubt that the principle question discussed was the impending transfer of some 4,000 regulars from the military arm of the Palestine Liberation Organization, now in Egypt, to the East Bank of Jordan, the Times reported. The guerrilla organization announced that the transfer would be made without consulting the Jordanian Government, according to the dispatch.
