This city’s Choral Temple was jammed with 2,000 worshipers who recited kaddish (mourners prayers) for the nine Jews executed in Iraq. Chief Rabbi Moses Rosen said Rumanian Jewry protested “the barbaric act of the Baghdad authorities.” He recited the 137th Psalm dealing with the Jewish exile in Babylon, ancient site of present-day Iraq. “We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. They hanged our brothers in the same place,” Rabbi Rosen said.
