Archaeologists have discovered an aqua duct near the Western (Wailing) Wall that dates from the period of the Second Temple. Prof. Benjamin Mazar, of the Hebrew University, who has been excavating near the wall, said the conduit was carved out of the natural rock and runs from the wall to the southern end of Old Jerusalem. He said the site was reached through an approach discovered by the British archaeologist, Sir Charles Warren, 100 years ago.
