JERUSALEM (Mar. 18)
Attempts to force a ban on Sabbath television broadcasts were resumed yesterday when three Orthodox members of the Broadcasting Authority applied to the Supreme Court for an order nisi against the Ministries of Labor and Posts. It would require them to show cause why they should not cease operating the TV service on Friday night. A decision on the new application is expected this week. The issue has apparently been dropped on the Government level. Friday evening TV was inaugurated last December when a Supreme Court injunction blocked an attempt by Premier Golda Meir to overrule a majority decision of the Broadcasting Authority to operate the TV service on a seven-day basis.
