An honorary Hebrew University fellowship was conferred on Roy Wilkins, since 1955 executive director of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, in the US. Taking part in the dinner-and-presentation ceremonies Thursday night at the university’s Belgium House was US Ambassador Walworth Barbour. The fellowship was presented in tribute to Wilkins’ “outstanding work on behalf of civil rights and in the interests of interracial understanding.” Wilkins, who was 70 last Aug. 30, received the citation from Hebrew U. president Avraham Harman.
