The City Council has adopted a resolution asking Secretary of State William P. Rogers to help inaugurate Philadelphia-to-Israel in-flight service by El Al Israel Airlines because “the fourth-largest city in the United States, with the third-largest Jewish population in the nation, is deserving of a direct air link with the State of Israel.” A copy of the resolution sponsored by Councilman Isadore H. Bellis, was sent to Israeli Consul General Moshe Yegar “as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.”
