The Jewish Telegraphic Agency was informed by reliable US governmental sources that the Middle East was discussed by Presidential advisor Dr. Henry Kissinger and Soviet Communist Party Secretary Leonid Brezhnev during Kissinger’s secret visit to Moscow last week. According to the sources, the Middle East was a major topic but “not as major as other issues” Kissinger discussed with Brezhnev. The Yugoslavian news agency, Tanjug, reported today from Moscow that the Middle East was believed to have been one of the main topics discussed by Kissinger and Brezhnev. Kissinger’s trip was apparently made to lay the groundwork for President Nixon’s visit to the Soviet Union May 22.
