Canadian Zionist Leader Dies at 73

Kalmen Berger, a national and local leader of the Labor Zionist Movement in Canada, died here at the age of 73. A native of Staszow, Poland, Berger immigrated to Canada in 1927 where he was a jeweler and later a builder. He was a leader in the Farband Labor Zionist Order and in the Canadian Jewish Congress. An active proponent for Yiddish in Jewish education, he attended the World Zionist Congress in Basle in 1946.
