Pavel Litvinov, the 33-year-old Soviet Jewish dissident who left the USSR yesterday, will be immigrating to the United States April 8, United Hias Service reported today. Litvinov, a chemical research engineer, went to the Hias office in Vienna today and the organization agreed to sponsor his immigration, according to a Hias spokesman here. He will go to Rome for a 10-day waiting period and then to Amsterdam before arriving in the United States. Litvinov, the grandson of Maxim Litvinov, had served a five year sentence in Siberia from 1968-73 for protesting Russia’s invasion of Czechoslovakia. He left the Soviet Union with his wife, Maya, and their two children.
