Israeli artist Adriana Neumann, who was critically injured on Yom Kippur eve when she fell from a bicycle in Central Park, died Saturday in Roosevelt Hospital here. She was buried today in Staten Island at Habaron Hirsch Cemetery. Ms. Neumann, in her early 40′s who resided in Manhatian, was well known in artistic circles in Israel and New York as a talented artist, batik expert and stage designer.
Born in Bucharest, she emigrated to Israel in 1961 and shortly thereafter began to design scenery for various theaters in Israel. She also had a number of exhibitions that were received favorably by art critics and the public alike. A batik show of hers was scheduled to open in Washington in mid-Oct.
Ms. Neumann arrived in New York in 1972. She designed costumes for the Jewish Experimental Theater in N.Y. and had several exhibitions for the America – Israel Cultural Foundation and the American Zionist Federation.
