Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau affirmed that the Canadian government opposes all discrimination against those Canadian companies which, because they trade with Israel or have Jewish directors, have been placed on the Arab boycott list. In the House of Commons last Thursday, the Prime Minister spoke in reply to a question posed by John Roberts, Member of Parliament from St. Paul, Ontario. Roberts requested that Trudeau reassure the House that the Canadian government wholeheartedly disagrees with trading restrictions based upon race or religion. Roberts further asked that Canada condemn those countries which do comply with such trade discrimination. Reportedly, the Arabs have placed 160 Canadian companies on their boycott list.
