Prior to his departure for the Soviet Union. Secretary of State Cyrus Vance will be given tomorrow a list of hard-core Soviet Jewish refusniks and Prisoners of Conscience from Eugene Gold, chairman of the National Conference on Soviet Jewry, and Rabbi Alexander Schindler, chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The list was prepared by the Soviet Jewry Research Bureau of the NCSJ.

In advance of the meeting, Gold pointed out that “the recent events in the USSR are of grave concern to the American Jewish community. I intend to voice our concern to the Secretary. It is the view of Moscow activists that we face a growth of Soviet anti-Semitism as evidenced in the Soviet media. We intend to protest the recent harassment and arrests of Soviet Jewish activists and the rumors of possible major show trials in the USSR.”
