Gen. Shlomo Inbar, head of the research and development branch of the Israeli army, has been named the new Israeli military attache in Washington. The 48-year-old Inbar takes over from Gen. Avraham Adan in July. A Sabra, Inbar was instrumental in building up the army’s communications and electronics corps. He holds a degree in electrical engineering and is considered knowledgeable with the sophisticated new weapons systems Israel is seeking to buy from the United States.
