Chancellor Bruno Kreisky will propose a round-table meeting of Socialist Arab and Israeli politicians to find ways to solve the Middle East crisis. Kreisky said he will make the proposal at a meeting of the Socialist International in Madrid this week. At this meeting, he will report on three fact-finding missions to the Middle East in which he participated in the last few years.

Kreisky said he will suggest that Socialist Arab and Israeli politicians should meet to discuss the situation. This meeting could be held in Vienna or at any other place at any time, he said. The Chancellor emphasized the round-table talks would have no official character as the Israeli Socialists (Mapai) are now in the opposition and no longer form the government.
