Jean-Paul Sartre was immersed in existential activity–and in the Gulf of Eilat this week. The renowned French philosopher and his daughter arrived in Israel on the eve of Rash Hashanah on a private visit and immediately proceeded to the warm climes of Israel’s southern city to dip in the gulf waters and to contemplate the sand and the sun–just being and nothing else.
