JERUSALEM (Aug. 18)
Nablus Mayor Bassam Shaka, who had both his legs amputated after his car was blown up last June, may go to the Soviet Union to be fitted with artificial limbs. His family in Nablus learned this from him in a telephone call from Europe. Shaka went to Amman for medical treatment shortly after the blast. He then went to Paris last week and Sunday flew to London. Eastern bloc countries offered their services immediately after the bombing and reportedly expressed their displeasure when Shaka first sought medical aid in the two Western capitals.
