Chief Rabbi Moses Rosen of Rumania has reported that the number of Jews emigrating to Israel in 1980 increased over the previous year. He said that as of Dec. 20, 1084 Rumanian Jews left for Israel compared to 988 in 1979. But the number of passports approved declined slightly from 1197 in 1979 to 1157 this year. He said that 509 persons are waiting for passports and of that number, 471 registered for emigration in 1980.
