A novel set in New Jersey, focusing on a Vienna native and his granddaughter’s friend, won the inaugural Reform Judaism Prize for Jewish Fiction. The $5,000 prize for Dara Horn’s “In the Image” will be presented at the Union of American Hebrew Congregations’ biennial next month in Minneapolis. Horn, 26, is a doctoral student in Hebrew and Yiddish literature.
