A private, Jewish-run university in Uruguay was named one of the top 500 universities in the world. Universidad ORT in Montevideo was listed No. 329 in the world in the Times of London’s Higher Education Supplement. It was the first time an Uruguayan university was included in the survey, which looks at more than 25,000 colleges. “This is not only an important distinction for our institution, but it is also important for Uruguay,” ORT President Jorge Grunberg told Uruguay’s El Pais newspaper. “We are extremely proud to be selected among the top 10 universities in Latin America, along with many prestigious schools.”
