Workers at Ben Gurion Airport canceled a daylong strike called for Thursday. The Ben Gurion Airport Workers’ Association had called for takeoffs and landings at Israel’s main international airport to be ground to a halt between 8 a.m and 5 p.m. as part of a protest against pirate radio stations operating in the area, but canceled it on Wednesday. That day, several planes at Ben Gurion had their communications with the control tower disrupted by the illegal radio broadcasts. The Communications Ministry said it was trying to crack down on pirate stations but detecting them was a major challenge.
