Israel kills 11 in Gaza raid

Israel killed 11 gunmen in a push into the Gaza Strip. Israeli troops withdrew Friday after a one-day operation in central Gaza targeting terrorists who launch rockets on southern Israeli towns. The Israeli troops were backed by tanks, bulldozers and called for aerial backup when they encountered gunmen; no Israeli casualties were reported. Hamas TV reported that Mohammed Siam, the commander for the terrorist group in central Gaza, was among the dead.
