Iran and the U.N. nuclear watchdog agreed on new inspections.
International Atomic Energy inspectors will visit a heavy water research reactor later this month and will “finalize safeguards” at the nuclear fuel enrichment plant in Natanz in August, and IAEA statement said Friday, after two days of talks between talk officials on both sides in Tehran.
Additionally, the sides agreed to further talks on allowing inspectors access to information on past plutonium experiments.
Iran insists its nuclear program is peaceful; IAEA inspectors suspect Iran is planning a nuclear weapon.
