The Israeli army suspended six troops suspected of shooting a Palestinian and leaving him unattended.
In a statement Friday, the army acknowledged Palestinian reports that an officer and five soldiers entered the West Bank village of Daharriya on Thursday and shot a Palestinian man in a taxi. They left him without first aid, the army said. He was later evacuated for treatment.
The army also froze operations by the soldiers’ unit, saying a preliminary inquiry found the incident “grave and caused by a problem of norms, a problem of command and likely a problem of professionalism.”
