Israel’s foreign minister will speak both inside and outside of the United Nations.
Tzipi Livni will address the UN General Assembly , which begins this week, on Oct. 1. She also plans to take part in a demonstration against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad outside the UN Monday, according to the Jerusalem Post. The demonstration against Ahmadinejad, who will attend the General Assembly and speak at Columbia University, was organized by a coalition of Jewish groups.
She met privately with the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad Sunday evening in New York, the first such meeting since Israel’s cabinet last week declared Gaza an enemy entity.
Livni will also launch a campaign to prevent terrorist organizations from fielding candidates for office throughout the world, reported Ha’aretz. She will reportedly use the Hamas victory in the Palestinian Aurthority as an example.
