Even if Norm Coleman prevails in his recount with Al Franken, will he be dogged by an federal investigation into his ethics?
The Minnesota Star-Tribune reports that Coleman, his wife Laurie, her employer and multi-millionaire Coleman friend Nasser Kazeminy have hired high-powered lawyers to represent them in what is currently a preliminary FBI investigation. Kazeminy allegedly funneled payments to Coleman through his wife’s employer, believing that Coleman didn’t make enough money as a senator, according to two lawsuits which have been filed in the state.
As for late Tuesday afternoon, Coleman was up by 188 votes, as the state canvassing board reviewed challenged ballots.
