The president of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, John Fishel, is stepping down.
Here’s his letter to the staff:
Subject: An important announcement for Agency executives
Dear Colleagues
This morning at a meeting of the Jewish Federation Board I announced my intention to relinquish my role as President and CEO at the Jewish Federation until December 31, 2009.
At that time I will continue as a consultant assisting the new President/CEO and the Chairman of the Federation Board through the transition. It has been my pleasure to work together with you over the past almost 17 years. We have a great community and exemplary service organizations affiliated to the JFC.
Although from time to time we disagree over communal policy or priorities, I know each of us has operated in the best interest of the community.
Since I will continue in my present role for the next eleven months I am sure we will have the opportunity to discuss many of the pressing issues facing us in a challenging year.
John Fishel
