JERUSALEM (JTA) — A resolution to boycott Israeli products is expected to be proposed at the annual meeting of a Canadian outdoor-equipment chain.

The Mountain Equipment Co-Op will likely propose the motion April 30 at its annual general meeting in Vancouver, the Vancouver Sun reported.

Members of the British Vancouver Teachers for Peace and Global Education, many of whom are members of the co-op, will likely introduce the motion, according to the Sun.

The chain sells seamless underwear and a hydration system for hikers and bikers produced in Israel.

Though members will be able to vote on the nonbinding measure, the final decision will be up to the board of directors.

The co-op screens factories with which it works to ensure ethical treatment of workers.

B’nai Brith Canada expressed concern over reports of the motion, and said it was encouraged by the company’s official position that it does "not divide its supply
chain along political lines" and will "not take sides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," according to a news release.
