JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s interior minister has begun the process of revoking the citizenship of four Israeli Arabs.

Eli Yishai is taking the rare step against the men, who left Israel in the 1970s to live in enemy states including Lebanon and Tunisia, since they have been accused of being involved in activities that endangered Israel’s security, the ministry announced Tuesday. The four were involved in activities with the Palestine Liberation Organization and other terrorist groups, Ynet reported.

Yishai also said the men would be arrested should they enter Israel. The men recently requested to return to Israel through Jordan.
