JERUSALEM (JTA)– A Czech court sentenced three men to prison for posing in a picture with a Nazi flag.
The district court in Teplice on Tuesday sentenced three defendants to six to 14 months in prison. Three other defendants received suspended sentences and fines. Another two defendants were let go since they were juveniles when the photo was taken. Some of the defendants say they will consider appealing the verdict, the Czech News Agency reported.
The photo was taken in a Teplice bar in 2004 during a birthday party. It later appeared on the Web site of the leftist organization Antifa.
The defendants told the court Tuesday they do not remember why the Nazi flag was at the party and said they are not members of any extremist groups. They said the picture was not taken to be distributed.
