ROME (JTA) — Italy and Israel will cooperate on space exploration.
The Israel Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency signed a bilateral agreement Tuesday at the Paris Air Show promoting cooperation in the peaceful exploration of space.
The five-year agreement targets five key areas for cooperation: space research, including the exchange of professors and researchers; space science and exploration; earth observation research and applications; space communications; and the use of ground equipment and ground segment infrastructure.
The agreement came as a result of direct contacts initiated in January and followed up in March.
