  • About three dozen prominent Israelis sign a letter of support for J Street. Among the signatories: Shlomo Ben Ami, Naomi Chazan, Amos Oz and former Mossad head Danny Yatom.
  • "Anne and Emmett," the play depicting an imaginary meeting between Anne Frank and Emmett Till and written by Janet Langhart Cohen (the wife of former Defense Secretary William Cohen) is reviewed in the Washington Times by James Kirchick. He calls the play — which was scheduled to be performed at the Holocaust museum the evening that security officer Stephen Johns was killed — "hackneyed" and the dialogue "unbearable," but says the performance two nights later at George Washington University in the aftermath of the tragedy, and its demonstration of the commonalities between blacks and Jews, was also "inspiring."
  • The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism condemns the violence in Iran: "We mourn the senseless deaths, condemn the violent repression of the rights of free assembly, speech and dissent, and urge that these human rights violations cease immediately."
  • A NPR reporter misspeaks and says Norm Coleman has taken a job with the National Jewish Democratic Council, and not the Republican Jewish Coalition. It’s been corrected.
