WASHINGTON (JTA) — Top officials from the United States and Israel established an emergency management work group.
Key leaders from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Israeli Defense Forces Home Front Command will serve as co-chairs of an emergency management work group that will address common problems and compare techniques for addressing an array of issues, said the statement Tuesday from FEMA.
The partnership comes as the culmination of several exchanges between FEMA and Israel over the past year.
Last month, FEMA representatives attended the national preparedness exercise "Turning Point 3" in Israel. Israel had previously sent observers to the TOPOFF 4 national exercise in the United States and personnel to take part in FEMA emergency management training.
