JERUSALEM (JTA) — A Palestinian was shot and injured while trying to cross from Gaza into Israel.
The Palestinian man was crossing into Israel near the Nahal Oz fuel terminal Tuesday evening.
Soldiers fired warning shots, which were ignored, according to Israeli media, quoting an IDF spokesman. The soldiers then shot and injured the infiltrator in the leg. Palestinian gunmen returned fire, according to reports.
He was treated at an Israeli hospital and is set to be handed over to security services to be interrogated, according to reports.
