JERUSALEM (JTA) — Lebanon’s prime minister-designate stepped down after failing to form a unity government with groups including Hezbollah.
Saad al-Hariri on Thursday said he would step down after trying for 10 weeks to form a government.
Hariri had presented President Michel Suleiman with a proposed national unity government on Monday, which was rejected by Hezbollah.
The proposal had given Hezbollah two seats in the new government.
